Ah, the Turnpike – New Jersey’s cholesterol and smoke-filled aorta. Those smells are a combination of swamp land and shame. Mostly shame. ;)

I agree – the newsworthy stuff brings more traffic to my site, too. And I need to comment on more blogs…I always forget that.

So honored to be the lone non-tech entry in your RSS reader! I have to say that the jump in traffic was largely due to abysmal numbers pre-Blogathon. Social media helped a lot (days that I posted to the Google Group and Twitter were usually better than days I didn’t) and I tried to comment on lots of people’s blogs, but otherwise, I didn’t do anything special. I did find that my most popular post was about a timely event that most people found through googling the name of the event. That’s a good lesson for me in the benefits of writing about something newsworthy.

And hey, NJ has plenty to explore — if you enjoy the beautiful Turnpike landscape and suspect smells. (Kidding! There are lots of travel-worthy places in New Jersey.)

Looks like you’re still going strong with daily blogging! I feel guilty, but I’m already taking a break. :)

Congrats on making it to the end! It was a hell of a ride and I thought of saying, “Screw it,” on several occasions.

Love the site and added it to my RSS reader – you are officially my only non-tech RSS feed :) Maybe one day I’ll get to go places that don’t end in “NJ”, but for now I’ll live in the exotic location I lovingly call “Piscataway”.

I’m intrigued by your percentage increase in readership – other than social media and posting great content, did you take other avenues to promote your work? Just curious (pun slightly intended.)

Anywho, can’t wait to read more about your travels – keep up the great work!

That’s a good point — when daily writing deadlines are already part of your routine, adding in another one isn’t much of a stretch.

Thanks for the shout out, and congratulations for finishing the challenge. I think that journalists typically do well in this challenge because they’re already used to writing on a regular basis – what’s another 300-500 words a day, right? I loved getting to know you and your blog, and hope that you’ll continue to check in on the Google Group. Good luck with all your blogging endeavors.
